Why Must Women Fight for Everyone—Yet Fight Alone for Themselves?

Why Must Women Fight for Everyone—Yet Fight Alone for Themselves?

Why do we expect women to fight for everyone but leave them to fight for themselves alone?

Since the beginning of time, women have been at the forefront of change. They have shaped history, led revolutions, and built communities. Women are educators, healers, peacekeepers, justice seekers, environmental warriors, and poverty fighters. They stand on the frontlines—whether in classrooms, hospitals, courtrooms, or protest grounds—challenging injustice and making the world a better place for everyone.

Yet, despite their undeniable impact, many women still lack the support they need to exercise their full rights.

It is heartbreaking that in 2025, women still have to fight for equal pay, the right to their own bodies, safety in public spaces, access to education, and leadership positions. The strength of a woman has never been in question—but her access to opportunities, freedom, and protection still is.

This year’s theme, "For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment," is a call to action. It is a reminder that women’s rights should not be selective, conditional, or delayed. Women have changed the world, and they continue to do so in every sector—from climate action to politics, from entrepreneurship to healthcare, from technology to grassroots activism.

It is time to stop forcing women to fight alone. It is time to stand with them, amplify their voices, and dismantle the barriers that still hold them back. The future we all dream of can only be built with women at the table—not just as participants but as decision-makers.

To all the women changing the world, breaking barriers, and rising against the odds—this is for you.

Happy International Women’s Day!
